Council of Europe Recommendation CM/Rec(2018)8 concerning Restorative Justice in Criminal Matters - 5th December, 2018
The ACJRD Working Groups Christmas Networking Event took place in the Blue Room of the Law Society of Ireland on Wednesday, 5th December, 2018. This event featured a Restorative Justice Working Group Seminar and was followed by a seasonal networking reception.
Dr. Ian Marder, National University of Ireland, Maynooth, spoke on the Council of Europe Recommendation CM/Rec(2018)8 concerning Restorative Justice in Criminal Matters.
Dr. Marder is a Lecturer in Criminology at National University of Ireland, Maynooth. In 2017/18, he acted as Scientific Expert to the Council of Europe's Council for Penological Co-operation, with whom he drafted a new Recommendation concerning restorative justice in criminal matters. Since May 2016, he has also been a Visiting Fellow at the Durham and Darlington Restorative Hub, for which he conducts small research projects on an ad hoc basis. He is also the founder and manager of the Community of Restorative Researchers, a research network open to all persons and organisations involved or interested in restorative justice or restorative practice in any capacity.
